A Monument Film is a short film that preserves your families memories on video. This 8-12 minute video captures you and up to 3 family members’ favorite qualities about your loved, memories that stand out most, and the impact they’ve had on your life. Videography is the best way to ensure your Legacy is passed on. It makes the perfect gift for your mother, father, spouse, grandparent, sibling, child, or other loved one.

1. The Story
The beauty of a story is that they can be shared from near or far. An experienced filmmaker can film the interview for you and up to 3 family members in person, or interviews can be filmed remotely. We have a simple interview process that is sure to generate strong content and capture your favorite memories.
2. The Edit
Using the interview content we’ve gathered in-person or remotely, we’ll combine it with photos, videos, and music to create your Monument Film. All you have to do is send us the photos and videos that best match your memories and stories and we’ll do the rest.
3. The Delivery
When you gift a Monument Film, your loved one isn’t just receiving a video. Your film is also delivered inside a custom Heritage Book. When the cover is opened, your film begins playing on an HD screen. It’s easy to store on a coffee table or bookcase for your loved one to watch over and over again for years to come.
A Legacy Film is about giving a platform to your family. They will have the unique opportunity to share their life story captured on video in a way that will be forever cherished. We want to get to know you or your loved one, so that we can convey the story with clarity. With that in mind, we crafted a custom 3-step questionnaire to help uncover their legacy.
2. digitizing
Walk down memory lane as you gather the old photographs and videos. We will scan the photos and convert the film into a medium that everyone will enjoy for years to come.
3. story time
It’s time to get scheduled with one of our trained filmmakers for the interview session. Our team will put your family at ease asking questions from the already familiar questionnaire.
4. Editing
We create a well thought out film with music, photos, video and most importantly your loved one's story. We put to work over a decade of experience to build a finished film that will become a legacy for generations to come.
Behind the Lens
Meet Aaron.
Aaron has spent the last decade honing in his craft in creative filmmaking and storytelling. Heritage Films is an outgrowth of that time and experience. Aaron has has traveled the United States filming businesses, Non-Profits, and Weddings telling each of their stories. Now it’s your turn. Aaron believes in the responsibility of passing on legacy to the next generation.
Working with Aaron on a special heritage film for my dad was an amazing experience! From start to finish Aaron helped us create an amazing film full of stories, memories and special moments of our father. To be able to have this captured on film, packaged and displayed in his beautiful video album was a gift my dad said it’s a gift of a lifetime. Aaron has an amazing gift of being able to draw out beautiful stories and memories and edit it all together to make it one gorgeous story from start to finish. I look forward to hiring Aaron again to spotlight more family members for years to come.
My dad passed away unexpectedly just 9 days before we could gather for Christmas to watch the video. He never had a chance to see it which makes it even more priceless to our family. Wow…tears were flowing as we watched dad and mom talk about growing up, getting married, raising kids and being blessed with incredible grand and great grandkids. Yes! Heritage Films has a skilled videography team that can come directly to your home anywhere in the United States. With all the tools and experience to capture interviews with featured family member(s) for Legacy or Monument films.
Absolutely! The investment of a Heritage Film can be divided between as many family members and friends as you need. Please inform us how who will be sharing in the investment so we can accommodate it at booking.
No. We do recommend a family member or friend be present for the interview to create an environment that is enjoyable and to help get the most out of the interview. We will work with you prior to filming to make sue we are asking all the right questions.
Yes, Please! After filming the interview we will send out a follow up email for you to start getting those pictures/video together. We recommend waiting on this step until after we capture your loved one’s story. This way we are only getting pictures that relate to the stories they told.
It’s up to you! Interview time can be used to film as many people as you like, but we recommend one person for a Monument Film and up to two for a Legacy Film. This way we can focus on elements of the story that can connect to each other throughout the film.
